Not as in Yo! Ma!… and not Yo-Yo Ma – although he is my favorite cellist… as in Yo! {Oy! backwards}… you really need to either throw out those chairs or make ‘em purty. I have 2 IKEA barrel type chairs that are embarrassing. I decided to give them another chance at life. Just call me the god of chair salvation.

Like your machines or appliances or a family member asleep on your sofa.

It is hot here in Austin, the humidity is high and my AC is choking and gagging. My babygirl away at school in Australia is… as she puts it, “I’m freezing my royal Rastafarian nay-nays off!” I think I need to give her another anatomy lesson! She has requested that I knit her some wrist warmers, socks and a hat.

Yeah, I know, I said there would be pictures of the wedding. Blame Mr. Coffee hogging using my camera…again. Arrggghhh. Better late than never. So here’s proof…
The theme of the wedding was built around the quilt, pictured later, that the Bride’s grandmother made for her before she passed away. The quilt top was finished but the quilt was completed by family members the week before the wedding. Anyhoo… the colors of the quilt reminded them of a Peacock, so hence the wedding theme. The Bride is/was in Roller Derby and the Groom (my oldest son’s best friend) is a Wrencher.. an awesome Master Bike Mechanic… hence also the Bicycle themes. They both are also talented and accomplished artists. The Groom’s hat was designed and sewn by Moi. The most adorable flower girl ever is my granddaughter. The Best Man is my firstborn. Bride’s family is Scottish, hence the kilts. The band was a Queen coverband. Ok enough with the gab and hences, on with the pictures!

Yesterday’s wedding was a blast! Even their dog (a big ol’ lab mix) wore a tuxedo vest and walked down the aisle. It was all outdoors. The band that played the reception was a Queen cover band {Magnifico, Austin TX} and their “Freddie Mercury” jumped off the stage and came up and sang to me! All my sons and Mr. Coffee thought it was hilarious. My only disappointment was they didn’t sing Fat Bottomed Girls… my theme song!
Sooo…where’s the pics? On my camera that is out with Mr. Coffee today. I will get them up tomorrow. I do have some camera shots of my adorable granddaughter. She was the flower girl. It was a peacock theme wedding, hence her outfit. After the ceremony my oldest son, the Best Man, PediCabed them around Lady Bird Lake with a parade of cyclists following.

On the sewing / quilting topic… I started what I thought was going to be a place mat but I think now it is telling me..{yes, I AM the Fabric Whisperer} it wants to be a quilt or at least a table runner.
Tried to color correct the photo but ya can only do so much with camera phone shots.

I am so proud of the little guy. I talked to him and fed him and nursed him back to health. Isn’t he pretty all sitting by my window?

Edited awhile after my original post – My friend Maddie‘s Mother-In-Law loves violets. She is in Hospice care. This post is in honor of her life. She is from Hungary as my grandmother was. I leave you with a Magyar Blessing:
