A Good Cause and So Easy to Help

Charlie Scott of Qubee Quilts has a goal of raising $1,000 for Aids Walk Kansas City to help people living with AIDS and HIV and their families. Please go here and vote on the pattern he will use for the donation quilt. You can read in detail about Charlie’s goal and how you can help with this cause by visiting this page
Tremendous advances have been made in research and treatment of AIDS and HIV but so much more is needed. This is dear to my heart. I use to care for AIDS patients at a Hospice…before it was officially named AIDS. It was a horrible, ravishing disease without much hope for successful treatment or survival. Changes have happened both medically and socially. Then there was so much fear and judgement. Today is different. I pray we keep moving forward.

Do Good {do justly, love mercy, walk humbly}

Handmade by Alissa is doing a wonderful thing for a wonderful organization.
This is a fundraiser for Action Kivu, an organization in eastern Congo that runs a sewing workshop for victims of the conflict there. The conflict in Congo has taken the lives of over 5.4 million people since 1998. Rape is used as a weapon of war, with estimates putting the number of rapes in the hundreds of thousands. { text from Handmade by Alissa website}

Action Kivu provides Eastern Congo’s victims of violence with the opportunity to rebuild their lives on a foundation of hope, dignity, and economic self-sustenance. {text from the Action Kivu website}

There are some giveaways connected to donations but I don’t think that is the meaningful part.
I take social justice, compassion and mercy seriously.
I hope you will take time to visit the sites I linked to and participate in some way.
