…and it makes me happy!
I have been admiring String Quilts.
I thought the method of making them was called Strip Piecing. Told Mr. Coffee that I was strip piecing. He found that intriguing and had all sorts of comments. Geesh.
I with giddiness grabbed my strips of fabric and stitched them together not knowing you were supposed to use a foundation–– like paper or a square of fabric.
Who Knew?
I have always been one to fly by the seat of my pants. In this case sew. So I present my “new” method : “The Coffee & Cotton SBTSOMP” Sewing By The Seat Of My Pants ©2010…heh
The official SBTSOMP method yielded this nifty piece O’ fabric which I squared up after striping piecing together. {See blissful pics below} Since it is WRONG I will use it to make a potholder or wallet or something. If you choose to forgo the Coffee & Cotton SBTSOMP method and do it right the first time I suggest you follow the great tutorials here or here or here or even here, heh, I decided to Google after I sewed. Yup, I plan ahead {snark}

Oh well, at least you’ll have a nice potholder.
I’m also a SBTSOMP sewist. I read all the instructions, then do it my way anyhow.
