The fabrics I used for my son’s birthday quilt are a combination of charm packs and scraps from Botany by Lauren & Jessi Jung, Freebird by MoMo and Frolic by Sandy Gervais… all made by Moda.
I think the pattern style is a Stacked Coins Quilt similar to this.
I will start by showing you my Bigass OOPS! I ended up with one block being more than a 1/4″ short from being inline at the top with the rest of the rows…and didn’t notice it until AFTER I quilted it { How it happened I do not know…I think it may have been subliminal since I did not like that piece }. I covertly sewed some extra fabric over it before I added the binding. Hopefully only I will know it’s there. MuWha Ha Ha… the underground quilter strikes again.

I cut jelly roll strips in half and pieced them to create the binding. The method I use is the same as how Oh, Fransson! explains it here.
I sew the first side of the binding on by machine to the quilt front, then fold it over and hand stitch it down to the backside.

I have sewn around, by machine, and this is the junction where the beginning and end meet

This is the back…my favorite part. Bad photo quality. { not shot by my camera }

More tomorrow on my thread choice, quilting and hopefully the finished product!
